Despite early hype, studies show that transplanted stem cells do not survive longer than 3 weeks post-injection, and their rate of actual tissue differentiation is near zero.
Autologous stem cell therapy is highly variable, impossible to standardize at a commercial scale, and prohibitively expensive.
Injecting live, proliferating cells carries inherent risks of immune rejection.
The Exosome Solution
The scientific consensus now recognizes that stem cells do not heal by becoming new tissue; they heal by secreting regenerative signals (the Paracrine Hypothesis). We are isolating the signal and discarding the cell.
Moleculeon utilizes immortalized stem cells grown in controlled bioreactors, yielding a 100% standardized, off-the-shelf, “plug-and-play” biologic.
Exosomes are non-living, lipid-bilayer nano-vesicles. They carry no risk of uncontrolled proliferation, bypass the immune system and can be standardized.
